One of Love and Logic’s techniques is Energy Drain!

The other day, I had the perfect opportunity to practice it.

Scenario

I was changing the baby’s diaper before we were headed out for a walk.

Me: “Hey Adam, would you please put Ayden’s diaper in the diaper pail?”

Adam: “Umm, no, I don’t want to do that.”

Me: “Oh that’s so sad, I guess I won’t have any energy to help you put on your helmet so that you can ride your bike on our walk.”

Adam pauses for a second, and then says:”Mom I will put Ayden’s stinky diaper away, because that will give you some energy!”
