What I Liked
There were many things that I liked in this book and many things I felt like I already do (which I explained here). I like how:
- her thinking, can be applied to everybody, no matter if you have certain nutritional requirements or restrictions.
- she explained Food Noise and Food Voice on pages 24-26. I’ve really tried to listen to the voice!
- she recommends nothing being off limits; “No restaurant, snack, drink, lack of exercise, or personal choice is “bad.” It’s how your choices string together that determines your weight, your energy level, and how you look in your jeans” (145). She even says that one bite of anything will not make you fat!
- she points out the Differential and the Point of Diminishing Returns.
- she included recipes at the end of each chapter
Things I Didn’t Like
- she’s not a nutritionist
- she follows “Political Nutrition”
- she loves soy (read here, here, here, & )
Things I’ve Changed Since I Read the Book
- Listening to my food voice
- Trying to balance
- Controlling the urge to have it all, all at once
- Eating more veggies
- Paying attention to my body after I’ve eaten
