Lord, make me a responsible parent.

Teach me to understand my children

to listen patiently and to answer kindly.

Make me as courteous to them as I would want them to be to me.

Give me the courage to confess when I wrong them and ask them for forgiveness.

Strengthen me to discipline myself that I may better discipline them.

Help me to teach them about life

not lead their life for them.

Remind me, always, that they are not just my children but Yours also.

May I bring them to a knowledge of You,

that You may bring them to their Eternal Home.
