Spring Break Baking

One thing that I planned to do during Spring Break was having a baking day.  Today was that day and it went much better than I had anticipated!

7:20: Asked my husband to run to the store for butter and baby wipes.  I’m so glad and lucky he obliged!  🙂  Thanks Babe!

7:40: breakfast for me and the kids

8:00: starting getting things out

8:10: told the kids what my plan was for the day, they were super excited!  🙂

8:20: put ingredients into bread machine for Cinnamon Swirl Bread

8:30: make sure TV is on something appropriate for AJ (my two year old) to watch

8:40: ask the kids what they want to start making first, start making Cookie Dough Truffles  (I am planning on posting just about this recipe next week!)

9:22: truffles go in the fridge (throughout this time, the baby was watching TV, helping us bake, making us laugh, trying to steal food, etc)

9:23: start a load of laundry; love on the baby; man, it’s getting hot in here, let’s open some windows, start the attic fan and enjoy the sound of the rain

9:45: start Cinnamon Roll cookies; (one child is upset, so they’re not helping at the moment)

10:03: dough disaster; the dough is falling apart; this isn’t going well!

10:05: dough is in the fridge; bread machine beeps; child falls off a chair & needs consoling; 1 child is putting cinnamon on dough; one putting on raisins; and one adding honey; after consoling; I take out the trash; Cinnamon Swirl bread into pan to rise

10:15: children start bickering; time for a snack!  😉

10:22: mini clean up

10:30: start blueberry muffins (missing a couple of kids)

10:41: muffins in the oven

10:44: start Oatmeal Cake (x6)

10:48: start the movie

[/amazon_link] for the kids who don’t want to cook anymore; kids start acting like pigs and going crazy; someone gets hurt

11:10: oatmeal cake in the oven; mini clean up

11:20: start banana nut muffins; mini clean up

11:41: muffins in oven; clean up again

11:47: figure out what’s next; start icing for Cinnamon Roll Cookies

11:58; get out dough disaster; cut up & hope for the best

12:05: disaster into oven; bathroom break; play with baby

12:15: start fixing lunch; AJ gets into icing and frozen chicken nuggets

12:16: cookie timer beeps; not ready, two more minutes; baby into icing and nuggets again

12:18: cookies out; chicken nuggets in; start on cutting up chocolate candy coating

12:23: AJ stealing chocolate; dishing up lunch; melting chocolate

12:33: lunch is served; Cinnamon Swirl bread into oven; sit down and eat!

12:45: AJ down for a nap; cover truffles in chocolate

1:09: truffles in the fridge

Our Accomplishments

Yum-O!  🙂

I believe breakfast and snacks are covered for the week!  (I hope) 😉

Our Disaster

Thankfully, Daddy did most of the clean up!  Thanks!

Oh my goodness you are so productive!! I wish I could accomplish that much in the morning, LOL! A baking day on spring break actually sounds like a good idea. Our spring break is in 2 weeks, so maybe I could do a freezing meal day.
