Materials
- paper plate
- red paint
- paint shirts
- red construction paper tongue (not cut out)
- mini marshmallows
- glue
- pencil
Procedure
- When the children first come in, have them put on a paint shirt, write their name on the back side of the paper plate and paint one side of the paper plate completely red, set aside to dry
- Read
- ask the children how many teeth they have (20)
- have the children go to their seats and get out their glue, pass out their dry, red paper plates
- have each child fold their paper plate in half (red being on the inside)
- pass out the red paper tongues and have the children cut them out and glue them to the bottom red part of the plate, with the rounded part close to the outside of the plate
- put ten dots of glue (“A little dab will do ya”) on the bottom part of the plate (on the red side)
- have the children put 10 mini marshmallows on the dots of glue
- repeat steps 5 & 6 on the top, red part of the paper plate
- clean up and set mouths out to dry
- ask the children if marshmallows are good for their teeth
