Summer Activities

Materials

  • homemade Summer books
  • construction paper or whiteboard
  • whiteboard markers or regular markers

 

Procedure

  1. get out the summer chart () and have a class discussion about what they see in the poster
  2. ask the children to guess what season the chart is depicting
  3. listen to song #22 on
  4. read and
  5. make a list of activities to do in the summer (draw a picture and label it)
  6. repeat #5 until every child has had a turn
  7. pass out the Summer books
  8. model turning to a blank page, drawing a picture from the list and labeling it
  9. instruct the students to do the same
  10. have the students come up and show you their book when they are done
  11. put a sticker on it (if done correctly) and send the books home
  12. review things/activities/etc that we attribute to summer
