Many people ask what the magical age is when a child should be transferred from a bottle to a sippy cup. Well I don’t know the magical age, I’m sure the “experts” would be able to give you an exact age (maybe even down to the day)! We simply transferred our kids to a sippy cup when they started drinking regular milk instead of breast milk or formula. The very first time we would give them regular milk we put it in a sippy cup! So I think my children thought that that’s how milk came, in a sippy cup. Once we gave them a sippy cup, we never offered them a bottle again! Now we did sometimes have to try several different types of sippy cups, until we found one that would work for each child. We had the best luck with cups that had a soft nipple and had handles on them, especially at first. After a while, it hasn’t really mattered for my kids what it was in! When they are hungry, they are hungry and will take milk in just about any form that it’s offered!
