Quotes
There are really so many. I actually have this book on my
and have printed out all of my highlights and plan on reading them regularly.*Contentment is accepting God’s sovereign control over all of life’s circumstances.
*Ultimately, contentment is more a shift in attitude than a change in circumstances.
*Happiness is getting what we want; contentment is wanting what we get.
*Worry doesn’t empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.
*Faith is based on God’s Word, not on our feelings.
Review
I really loved this book and I really needed to read it when I did. I was/am having some extended family issues that have really torn me up. I was in a very desperate place for a while. While this book didn’t solve my problems overnight. It did give me peace. I am not in complete control over what happens to my relationships, but I am in control of me. I can choose to be content and not let these circumstances tear me apart and turn me into a person that I don’t want to be. I can choose to make these circumstances make me stronger and make me a better person. I can make these circumstances bring me closer to God, instead of turning the other way. I highly recommend this book. I know I will be reading it again. It is my intention to read it again next year along with the companion journal.
