Herb Rubbed Flank Steak
Ingredients
1.5-2 lbs of flank steak
half bottle of Teriyaki sauce (about 9-10 oz)
2.5 tsp dried rosemary
2.5 cloves of garlic
1 1/8 TBS black pepper
1 1/4 TBS dried parsley
1 1/8 TBS salt
Steps
marinate flank steak in Teriyaki sauce for 4-5 hours
combine the rosemary, garlic, pepper, parsley, & salt
take the steak out of the marinade
pack the herb mixture on both sides of the steak
grill or broil 8-10 minutes each side
let the steak rest for 5 minutes before cutting at a 45 degree angle (against the grain) in very thin slices
We don’t have this meal too often because it is a more expensive meal for us, but it’s one of our favorites! When I do make this, I usually make two and freeze them. I will buy a little over 3 lbs of flank steak at Sam’s and a bottle of Teriyaki sauce at the store. I split up the steak and pour half of the bottle of sauce in the bag with the steak. Then I get out two cups, put small zip top bags in them and quickly make the herb mixture. Then I tape the herb bag onto the steak bag and stick them in the freezer. I will then pull the steak out of the freezer and place in the fridge one to two days before we plan on cooking it! I love making this with loaded ranch mashed potatoes and garlic, cheddar biscuits!
