Instruction

  1. Read Today I Feel Silly
  2. Talk about times/things that make you feel happy
  3. Have the child(ren) open up their book to the happy page
  4. Have the child(ren) show you their happy face
  5. Model drawing a happy face in the emotions book, stopping after each step to allow time for the child(ren) to complete the same step
  6. Read Let’s Talk About Feeling Sad
  7. Talk about times/things that make you feel sad
  8. Have the child(ren) open up their book to the sad page
  9. Have the child(ren) show you their sad face
  10. Model drawing a sad face in the emotions book, stopping after each step to allow time for the child(ren) to complete the same step
  11. Review things/times that make you happy/sad
  12. Review anger and how to deal with it
