Firemen

Materials

  • books: , , and
  • black construction paper
  • saran wrap
  • red and yellow tempra paint
  • paint shirts
  • copies of fire trucks
  • crayons
  • glue
  • scissors

Procedure

  1. listen to two songs off of
  2. Read and
  3. have the children go to their seats and put on a paint shirt
  4. pass out the black construction paper
  5. put 3 dabs of red and 3 dabs of yellow paint on each child’s paper and put saran wrap on top of the paper.
  6. have the children “finger paint” with the saran wrap (practically mess free!)
  7. throw away all the used saran wrap
  8. set picture off to the side to dry
  9. pass out firetruck pictures and have the children color them and cut them out
  10. glue the firetrucks onto the black paper
  11. read and
  12. continue to put flame on students and have them practice “Stop, drop and roll

This is a good lesson to have firefighters bring a truck to the school or to go on a field trip to the fire station!
