Other Mother (MIL)
Over 15 years ago I went on a family trip to Branson, MO and we went to Silverdollar City. I don’t know if they always have craft booths there, but they did the day we were there. I’ve always been sentimental, so I was looking through the calligraphy poems and found this lovely poem:
“You are the other mother I received the day I wed your son.
And I just want to thank you, Mom, for all the things you have done.
You have given me a gracious man with whom I share my life.
You are his lovely mother and I his lucky wife.
You used to pat his little head and now I hold his hand.
You raised in love a little boy, then gave me
a man.”

I decided that I would try to keep it in mind so that I could give it to my future mother in-law. Fast forward about seven years, I was engaged, and at another craft show. I decided to look for it, hoping I could remember it. I found it! I was thrilled! I bought it, framed it and gave it to my mother in-law. I would feel very blessed if one of my future daughter in-laws gave me a copy too! 😉
Here is another really nice
as well.
