Sing to Learn CD

shapes cut out of construction paper (squares, circles, rectangles, triangles, hearts, diamonds, ovals, stars  1/child)

Instructions

1. play song #10 on the Sing to Learn CD
2. read Mouse Shapes book
3. as you read the book, air draw and have the child(ren) mimic air drawing each shape
4. get out the construction paper shapes
5. hold up one shape and ask the child(ren) what shape it is
6. have the child(ren) cover their eyes
7. hide the shape around the room
8. call on the child(ren) to find the shape
9. repeat steps 5-8 for the remaining shapes
10. when all the shapes have been found, have the child(ren) trace each shape with their finger as they tell you what shape it is
11. read Shapes (Math Counts)
12. listen to song #10 on the CD, having the child(ren) hold up the shape that the song is singing about
