Summer Art

Materials

  • an outline of a beach ball printed on cardstock
  • colored sand
  • glue

 

Procedure

  1. get out the summer chart () and have a class discussion about what they see in the poster
  2. ask the children to guess what season the chart is depicting
  3. listen to song #22 on
  4. read
  5. using a model cardstock beach ball, show how to squeeze and spread a little bit of glue in one section of the beach ball and sprinkle sand on it
  6. model doing the same with different colored sand to each section of the beach ball
  7. pass out materials and have the students do the same
  8. assist students who need help
  9. when they are done, set the beach balls aside to dry
  10. review attributes of summer
