Summer Weather

Materials

  • homemade Summer book
  • construction paper and markers or white board and white board markers

Procedure

  1. get out the summer chart () and have a class discussion about what they see in the poster
  2. ask the children to guess what season the chart is depicting
  3. listen to song #22 on
  4. read 
  5. make a class list of things that happen in nature during summer (hot, sunny, etc); draw a picture and label it
  6. pass out the summer books and have the students write their name on the cover
  7. open the model book, draw a picture from the list and write the word
  8. instruct the students to do the same
  9. when the students are done, have them come up and show you their page, keep the books
  10. review the nature changes of summer
