Heaven is for Real

This is a really sweet book.  My mom brought it with her to read and let me read it while she was here.  Even during the “throughs” of Christmas, I was able to finish it quickly.  I know of many people who have read this book, all have loved it and most cried.  I am very astounded to say, that for once, I didn’t cry.  I was close.

My heart ached for the Burpos when Colton was deathly ill.  I love Colton’s description of heaven, it’s really put heaven on my mind a lot more lately.  I’m thinking about it differently than ever before.  A child-like faith is amazing and I oftentimes wish I could emulate it.

I loved it when I read on page 153, “It’s good to be strong and able to bless others, yes.  But we learned the value of being vulnerable enough to let others be strong for us, to let others bless us.  That, it turned out, was a blessing to them as well.”  I also laughed out loud when I read Cassie’s (Colton’s older sister) idea for the title of the book in the epilogue.

I encourage all to take the time to read this book.  It is great and I love the new perspective that I’ve gleamed from it!
