Winter Clothing

Materials

  • Winter books
  • lots of different kinds of clothing
  • crayons
  • pencils
  • construction paper or white board and markers

Instructions

  1. listen to song #22 on
  2. review winter weather
  3. read the book
  4. pull out the clothes one by one, have the kids give you a thumbs up if it’s something you wear in the winter and a thumbs down if it isn’t (place the clothes in two separate piles)
  5. compare the piles (which looks larger, which looks smaller; estimate how many items in each pile, count how many things are in each pile, etc)
  6. make a list on the construction paper or white board of winter clothing; draw a picture and label it
  7. pass out the student winter books
  8. model opening the winter book to the next blank page, drawing a picture from the list and labeling it
  9. instruct the students to do the same
  10. collect the student books when they are done
  11. review winter clothing
