- Winter books
- lots of different kinds of clothing
- crayons
- pencils
- construction paper or white board and markers
Instructions
- listen to song #22 on
- review winter weather
- read the book
- pull out the clothes one by one, have the kids give you a thumbs up if it’s something you wear in the winter and a thumbs down if it isn’t (place the clothes in two separate piles)
- compare the piles (which looks larger, which looks smaller; estimate how many items in each pile, count how many things are in each pile, etc)
- make a list on the construction paper or white board of winter clothing; draw a picture and label it
- pass out the student winter books
- model opening the winter book to the next blank page, drawing a picture from the list and labeling it
- instruct the students to do the same
- collect the student books when they are done
- review winter clothing
